STS’ Illinois Learning Standards Battery (ILSB) is a standardized battery of ability and achievement tests for grades 1 through 12. Developed from the Illinois State Board of Education’s Standards, the ILSB is an objective measure of how well students know the state goals for learning. It provides standards-based reports for local school improvement, as well as norm-referenced reports. All of the items in each level and subtest of the assessment are designed to comprehensively test six fundamental learning areas. In addition the battery includes subtests for quantitative and verbal ability, which provide a cognitive skills quotient (CSQ).
The requirements of No Child Left Behind impact the educational process. The ILSB assists with many of the monitoring aspects of
No Child Left Behind while providing help with prescribing instruction based on curriculum aligned with state standards.
