The third edition of the individually administered Test of Nonverbal Intelligence: A Language-Free Measure of Cognitive Ability, Third Edition (TONI–3) builds on the experiences and success of the two previous editions dating back to 1982. In order to document test reliability with adult subjects more effectively, TONI–3 has been revised to address the assessment needs of adults.

The directions and responses require no reading, writing, speaking, or listening for the test subject, making TONI–3 ideal for assessment situations with people who have limited language and motor skills and for accommodating neurological impairments.

The TONI–3 scores derived from raw scores yield deviation quotients, percentiles, and standard error of measurement, which are recorded on the Answer and Record Form Booklet. The booklet includes important information such as the testing setting, anecdotal comments, interpretation and recommendations, and instructions for administration and scoring.
